ORAL ENGLISH

Anglais

My name’s Ilana and I’m her to talk about my work during this semester in Psychology.

During this semester, my goal was to be able to watch series/movies in VO without French subtitles and to acquire new vocabulary to help me in my schooling and/or during my trips abroad and in everyday life if needed.

I also wanted to improve my oral fluency to overcome my shyness and improve my accent.

For this, I have done many activities, especially in the preparation of the courses, which helped me a lot during the LRC. On my side, I have also done activities such as watching movies, doing grammar exercises or translating music lyrics that I like.

I managed to reach my goals, now I watch my series/movies with English subtitles which is very good! What I would like to do is to continue working on videos such as TED talks, series, interviews to acquire new vocabulary because it is very important. Also, I want to keep watching these to improve my accent because it is by hearing the words that we improve our accent and pronunciation!

In the future, I want to continue to participate in English and work to improve myself, and also travel to use everything I have learned in and out of the classroom.

This semester has allowed me, in English, to evolve, to learn and to practice with rigor, as I said in my diary, I have succeeded in most of my objectives, but I also had many difficulties especially when I didn’t know the vocabulary in particular when I didn't know the vocabulary during the TED talks or movies, but I managed to surpass myself and include this vocabulary in my language.

And despite this, I feel that I have reached my objectives for the most part because English is constantly learning, we are never finished learning vocabulary and having to practice.

I’m coming to the end of my presentation, and to sum up what I’ve just said this semester has been very rewarding for me and I will continue my multiple efforts to improve and continue learning this very interesting and important language for me.

It was a pleasure to talk to you today.

Bye!
